Know the law. Carry the message. Help protect respectful access.

The Massachusetts Service Animal Access Card is a professionally designed 4" × 6" legal-reference card created to make important service-animal access standards easier to understand during real-world interactions.

Featuring a Massachusetts coastal theme, an iconic Boston Terrier, a lighthouse crest and ServiceAnimalAlert.com’s signature red balloon, the card combines commanding visual design with concise references to Massachusetts law and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

It is designed for handlers, businesses, public employees, security personnel, transportation workers, healthcare facilities and others who may need a quick, respectful reminder of the rules governing service-animal access.

This card does not create access rights, certify an animal or replace the law. It helps bring the law into the conversation before confusion becomes conflict.

Front Features

  • Bold SERVICE ANIMAL ACCESS identification
  • Massachusetts state outline and coastal artwork
  • Boston Terrier mascot with signature red balloon
  • Clear public-access message
  • “No Extra Service Animal Charge May Be Imposed” notice
  • “Service Animals Welcome” banner
  • ServiceAnimalAlert.com branding and educational mission statement

Back Features

The reverse side presents a structured legal reference covering:

  • The two disability-related questions permitted under the ADA
  • Massachusetts public-accommodation and public-conveyance protections
  • Penalties and potential liability for denying rights protected by Massachusetts law
  • Access protections for people raising or training service dogs
  • Handler-control and lawful-removal standards
  • Massachusetts service-animal dog-license fee exemption
  • Clear educational-use disclaimer

Massachusetts General Laws chapter 272, section 98A protects qualifying people accompanied by dog guides in public conveyances, public amusements and places of public accommodation, prohibits an added charge or fare for the dog, and provides penalties and potential damages for unlawful deprivation of those rights.

Massachusetts General Laws chapter 129, section 39F extends corresponding rights, privileges and responsibilities to a person engaged in raising or training a service dog, including a hearing, guide or assistance dog.

Massachusetts General Laws chapter 140, section 139(c) provides that no local license fee may be charged for a service animal as defined by the ADA.

Why ServiceAnimalAlert?

ServiceAnimalAlert.com creates practical educational materials that help service-animal handlers and members of the public approach access questions with greater knowledge, confidence and respect.

Every card is designed to place accurate legal references into an accessible format without suggesting that identification, registration or purchased documentation is required for a legitimate service animal.

Purchasing this card means carrying more than a reference. It means supporting a culture in which lawful access is understood, responsible handling is expected and respectful interaction becomes the norm.
